Resume

About · Los Angeles, California, USA

I build iOS software the way I'd want to inherit it — with clear boundaries, shared foundations and decisions written down.

I'm a senior iOS engineer and technical leader with 12+ years of iOS engineering experience. I began as an iOS Engineer at MegaProgramming in January 2014, building native iOS apps in Objective-C and Swift, and later led iOS teams at four companies, owning the architecture decisions behind that work.

Where I started

As a child I was fascinated by space, planets and stars, by the mathematics and physics behind them, and by how computers, televisions, radios and electronics worked inside.

That curiosity led to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at Yerevan State University in Armenia, where I studied from 2010 to 2017 — algorithms and data structures, Assembly, Lisp, SQL, C and C++.

How my career grew

My professional iOS engineering career began in January 2014 at MegaProgramming, where I worked as an iOS Engineer, followed by an iOS Engineer role at PicsArt Armenia. At Arm-BoldMind I started as an iOS Engineer delivering apps with MVC, VIPER, Core Data and socket integration, and was promoted to iOS Team Lead toward the end of my time there.

I went on to lead iOS teams at Xamlab, WiredMates and Crypmoji — a Xamarin-to-Swift migration with tests and CI/CD, a reusable UI system and native checkout, and an encrypted-messaging prototype delivered in four days alongside a Swift–C++ memory-ownership fix.

At KSF Technologies AG, as a Senior iOS Engineer, I re-architected login and authentication and built a Core SDK that centralizes Keychain, Core Data, settings and dialog services for every feature.

Where I'm heading

My next step is Staff-level scope — systems architecture, platform foundations and technical direction across teams. Longer term I'm drawn to systems architecture and systems engineering for complex, mission-critical software.

Beyond the day job

I have taught C++ and Swift programming since 2017, and I founded Swift Academy LLC in 2023. I also build products of my own — the projects and ventures on this site describe what I built and led.

How I work

Principles that show up in the case studies, each tied to something I did rather than an adjective.

  • Decisions with their trade-offs

I compare options before committing — at Crypmoji, three delivery strategies before a four-day build — and keep the reasoning visible to the team.

  • Solve it once, share it well

Shared SDKs and services remove duplicated infrastructure and give every feature the same tested foundation.

  • Root causes over rewrites

Reproduce, isolate and fix the cause. A Swift–C++ ownership fix saved a rewrite that the symptoms seemed to demand.

  • Quality is a team habit

Tests, CI/CD and review standards — and mentoring so they outlast any one engineer.
